As we approach the new year, it’s time for some long-awaited changes at 3z.rent. After carefully considering feedback from our loyal customers, we’ve crafted updates to simplify and speed up the rent process while enhancing your overall experience.
Summary of changes
These are the most significant changes that will take effect starting 1st January 2025:
- Updated work hours: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 18:00, Sat 09:00 - 12:00, gear pickups and returns outside these hours will no longer be available
- Revised rent duration calculation: We will now take pickup and return times into account when counting rent duration
- Farewell to the Weekend deal, hello free Sundays!: Sundays and public holidays will no longer count as rent days
- New pricing structure: Additional rent days are now 50% off the first day’s rate
- Introducing our loyalty program
- Updated cancellation policy and new fees

Updated work hours
Starting 1st January 2025, our new work hours will be:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 18:00
- Saturday: 09:00 - 12:00
- Sunday & public holidays: CLOSED
Pickups and returns will now only be possible during our work hours.
This change allows us to provide consistent and high-quality service, with a focus on better resource allocation and team efficiency. We appreciate your understanding as we adapt to this new schedule.
Revised rent duration calculation
We’re making a significant change to how we calculate rent periods:
- Days will be split into two halves: 08:00 - 13:00 and 13:00 - 18:00
- If you pick up gear in the morning and return it the next day before 13:00, it will count as one day, but returning gear after 13:00 will count as two days
- If you pick up gear in the afternoon and return it the next day, regardless of the return time, this will be considered as one day
- Sundays and public holidays will no longer count towards the rent duration, meaning a Saturday pickup with a Monday return before 13:00 will count as only one day
- Since Sundays are no longer counted towards the rent period, the Weekend Deal will no longer be available
This change ensures greater clarity and fairness, particularly for weekend and holiday rents.
Pricing structure
We’re introducing a new pricing model that rewards longer rents:
- The first rent day’s rate remains the base rate
- Additional days are now charged at 50% of the first day’s rate
For example, if the first rent day costs 100 EUR, every additional day will cost 50 EUR.
To ensure transparency and help you plan better, we’re also rolling out an improved price calculator on our website.
We will be updating base prices for most gear in our catalogue to align with the new pricing structure.
Loyalty program
We’re excited to reward our loyal customers with the launch of our new loyalty program. Highlights include:
- Earn points by renting gear
- Redeem points for discounts on future rents

Updated cancellation policy
To balance flexibility with fairness, we’ve updated our cancellation policy:
- Free cancellations up to 24 hours before your pickup
- Cancellations within 24 hours of the pickup will incur a 25% of the total rent amount fee
- Cancellations within 2 hours of the pickup will incur a 50% of the total rent amount fee
- No-shows will be charged the full rent amount
This new policy allows us to better manage resources and accommodate other customers effectively.
New fees
To maintain the fairness and quality of our service, we’re introducing the following fees:
- Late return fee: If gear is returned past the agreed time without proper communication, we will charge an additional 25% of the first day’s rate, along with any applicable rent extensions
- Damage/loss fees: In addition to repair or replacement costs, we will charge:
- A regular issue fee of 50% of the affected gear’s first day rate (minimum 15 EUR)
- An unreported issue fee of 100% of the affected gear’s first day rate (minimum 50 EUR)
These measures are meant to encourage accountability while keeping our gear in excellent condition for everyone.
