Hold the mayo and pass the gear – we’re back with another saucy installment of our "gear ketchup" series, and honestly, we didn’t expect it to come this soon. But here we are, with a gear list longer than our focal lengths. So let’s ketchup, shall we?

This edition’s spread includes a spicy new camera, a screen that’s brighter than your ex’s future, and enough glass to make a tomato blush. If filmmaking gear gets you hot under the gimbal, this one’s for you.

INSTA360 X5

The sun’s out, buns out... and apparently action cams out too. As soon as the clouds parted, everyone wanted to go extreme — and so did Insta360 with the new X5. Think of it as the X4, but on performance-enhancing salsa.

We're talking dual 1-inch sensors, up to 8K30 recording, massively improved low light and it's still compatible with most X4 accessories. When you see how much juice is squeezed into this little package, you'd think we made it just to make puns of it for this series! This cam is ready for mountain biking, skydiving, or just running through sprinklers like it’s 2004 again.

ATOMOS SHOGUN ULTRA

You’ve been asking for bigger on-camera monitors, so we brought in the Atomos Shogun Ultra, because size does matter — when it comes to monitoring. Think of it as the Ninja V’s gym-rat cousin. Beefier, but still nimble enough to jump on your rig without breaking your back.

2000-nits. 7 inches. 1080p resolution. It's a breath of fresh air when coming from the tiny on-camera monitors. Add HDMI and SDI in/out ports, together with ProRes, ProRes RAW (up to 8K30), DNxHR and H.265 recording to the mixing bowl and you've got a versatile monitor/recorder to feast on (please don't eat it). "What about accessories?" you ask. Cages, sunhoods, SSDs, cables – we've got the whole pantry stocked.

GET READY FOR THESE GLASSHOLES...

SIGMA ART 24-70MM F2.8 II (SONY E & L-MOUNT)

Let’s be real — you love the 24-70mm range. We know it. You know it. Your camera knows it. So we brought in the Sigma Art 24-70mm F2.8 II, in both Sony E and L-Mount. Now your sensor is covered, whether you're shooting Canon, Sony or even Blackmagic.

Mark II has some great improvements: blazing fast autofocus, overall sharpness, weather seal, de-clickable physical aperture ring and a zoom lock switch in a nicely designed, compact and lightweight package – tailor-made for run & gunning!

The L-Mount version is our first foray into the L-Mount Alliance! The universal mount shows real promise, and we're already seeing the benefits of it on our Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K. The L-Mount hype is real!

The Sony E mount version is confidently duking it out in the ring with the Sony GM 24-70mm F2.8 II. It's on par with Sony's own speedy autofocus and physical control, so if you see red splatters – that's definitely ketchup...

SIGMA SPORT 70-200MM F2.8 (SONY E)

The Sony E mount 24-70mm was feeling lonely, so we brought in the Sigma Sport 70-200mm F2.8 to keep it company — because no zoom should have to eat lunch alone.

It's basically on par with the Sony GM 70-200mm F2.8 II with its lens mount, optical stabilization, internal zoom, and autofocus. Great for interviews, sports, or cinematic staring contests across the street.

SIGMA CONTEMPORARY 150-600MM F5-6.3 (CANON EF)

You asked for more reach, and we answered with a chonky boy. This Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm F5-6.3 is less of a lens and more of a compensation tool.

Some standout features are the superb optical stabilization and 600mm max focal length, for when your subject is in another zip code. It's also compatible with the Sigma TC-1401 and TC-2001 – yes, you can hit a theoretical 1200mm.

Clearly, y’all are either bird watchers, spy thriller directors, or trying to catch someone cheating in 8K from three rooftops away. Either way, we rent and we don't judge!

7ARTISANS 10MM F2.8 II (SONY E)

We cut from a close-up to an extreme wide shot with the 7artisans 10mm F2.8 II (Sony E) fisheye - our widest Full-Frame lens ever!

We're talking 185° field of view (yes, you will see your own fingers holding the camera), 15cm close focus, and no vignetting - so no more peephole perspectives, just ultra-wide angle vibes! It's got fully manual focus and iris wheels for full creative control (and a little chaos)

Perfect choice for POV shots, music videos, and skate videos. As you can see, we're still stuck in that "2004 thing".

THYPOCH SIMERA-C T1.5 SPHERICAL LENS SET

Inspired by the classic Leica Summilux-M lenses, these Leica M mount primes bring that retro charm with cinema-level sauce.

The Thypoch Simera-C T1.5 are compact – small enough for gimbals, sneaky enough for tight sets. Fast T1.5 aperture and incredible close focus (55-23cm) make them a versatile army, ready to conquer any subject and lighting environment.

Fully manual focus and iris with cinema standard 0.8 gears - sorry, autofocus lovers, it's character-building time.

Due to the Leica M mount, they're adaptable to basically any mount to work with any camera you want – kind of like ketchup on fries, eggs, or... ice cream? We'll cool it with the metaphors.

Aesthetically pleasing with just the right amount of character, optically delightful, and a real hipster flex for anyone trying to shoot like it's 1961, but with 2025 ease-of-use.

(we're joking about the autofocus part; in case you need autofocus function with these lenses, check out the DJI Focus Pro system)

THAT'S ALL FOLKS... FOR NOW

That's it for this round of "gear ketchup" – we'll let this batch simmer while you check it out live on 3z.rent. Whether you're here for the glass, the gadgets, or just the gratuitous puns, we're glad to have you around!
